About My Practice

I would like to introduce myself:

My name is Faith Harmon, LCSW and I have over 15 years’ experience working with children
from 3 to 93! I also do family work as well as individual work with adults.

With children, I believe therapy is one of the greatest gifts a parent can give a child by letting them know there is help out there if they should need it later on in life and that it is ok to ask for help! Consider me a “feelings helper” who can help your children navigate through the myriad of emotions they may be feeling and learning ways to express them in positive and healthy ways.

With adults, I believe most adult issues (problems) stem from childhood so it is important to make those connections and revisit entrenched patterns that may not serve a purpose anymore and create new ones that reflect the changes that are taking place. Making a commitment to yourself can be the most empowering thing you can do!

I am trained in play therapy and recently became a certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I use trauma informed interventions including expressive arts, sand tray, EMDR and EFT. I also draw from an array of treatment modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral, Family Systems, Solution-Focused, Narrative Therapy, Psychodynamic and Gestalt theories to address all kinds of issues including anxiety, depression, abuse and neglect issues in children and adults who experienced abuse and neglect as children, parenting, anger management, family conflict, divorce issues, self-esteem issues, and life transitions.

My goal is to create a safe space for people of all ages to be heard, to help them become more self-aware, improve communication skills and make positive changes while doing it in a non-judgmental, accepting way.

I look forward to working with you!!

Do you work with every client?

There are certain challenges, such as eating disorders, substance abuse, sexual compulsions, for which I usually refer the client to a colleague with a specialty in those challenges. That is a partial list, and I will alway refer a client if I think that they would be better served by working with someone else.
